Rickie Fowler is currently striving towards standing in the top 30 to make it to Atlanta next week for Tour Championship.

Recently, he was blessed by a 103-year-old fan in the Olympia fields who asked him to play some good golf. And his recent shot on Saturday got the approval from the world no.1 champ and his caddie, Ted Scott. Despite that, there is some tension surrounding his game in Illinois.

The BMW Championship is going to witness a fascinating Sunday. Max Homa was in the top position earlier in the game, but a three-bogey strip hit him hard and pushed him down the line. And now, Scottie Scheffler is leading the scoreboard in a tie with England’s Matt Fitzpatrick.

Amid this, when Fowler took a shot on Saturday, during round 3, he met with the approval of the leader of the tour and the no.1 player. The golf fanatics at the course were cheering quite loudly for the PGA Tour pro.

PGA Tour’s Twitter (now X) handle shared the video and wrote, Darts delivered by @RickieFowler. Scottie Scheffler and Ted Scott approved of this one @BMWChamps” In the video, when Fowler took the shot, everyone’s gaze followed the ball. Then, it fell close to the hole. While the crowd cheered, Scottie Scheffler and his caddie Ted Scott, who seemed to be leaving the ground, showed Fowler a thumbs up.

But, despite the shot getting some approval, Fowler did fall down the leaderboard on Saturday. He made two birdies alongside five bogeys and finished with a 3-over 73. Fowler will enter the final round on Sunday in the 23rd position. In a huge jump down, he fell down 18 spots after round 3.

Indeed, he has had a good season with a win at Rocket Mortgage Classic, but his U.S. Ryder Cup standing is 13th. And only the first twelve will go to Italy next month. Either Fowler will have to have one of the greatest comebacks in golf on Sunday in Olympia Fields.

The BMW Championship 2023 concludes on Sunday. And the top 30 players will then move  for the final FedEx event, the Tour Championship. Scottie Scheffler is in a prime position at the tournament and a win this time will add to his already splendid year.

He shot 64 on Saturday and it made him share the lead with Matt Fitzpatrick. A win today will send Scheffler to the Tour finale for the second time in a row. Last year, his hopes slipped up and were grabbed by Rory McIlroy.

For Fitzpatrick, it will be a follow-up win to his last year’s U.S. Open victory. Max Homa, who set a new course record of 62 on Friday, will be playing to win his lead position back, as well as the title. His triple bogey strip tore him down on Saturday, but he still has a chance to jump back in the game.
