Billy Horschel stole the show as Atlanta Drive GC took down New York Golf Club in the opening match of the TGL final. With the teams locked at 2-2 after the first nine holes of triple play, everything came down to the singles matchups—where the real drama unfolded! After his heroics helped his team get the first win, the fans were already geared up to see him perform in the second round. But it turns out that he had more for them.
During the match scheduled for Tuesday, he wore a solid blue polo T-shirt, with classic beige formal pants. Guess who that is reminiscent of? None other than the late legendary golfer Arnold Palmer. TGL and the PGA Tour took to their official Instagram account and posted his picture from the finals.
In fact, even reporter Claire Rogers took to his official X account and shared the uncanny resemblance of both their outfits on his wall. One was of Arnold Palmer from his prime, wearing the same outfit. In the caption, he wrote, “The Arnold Palmerification of TGL”. And well, it is safe to say that Billy Horschel is coming out to be a carbon copy, not just in the dress, but also in the game.

And well, the fans did not miss the opportunity to compliment him.
Billy Horschel dubbed as classy in Arnold Palmer lookalike attire
Arnold Palmer was an icon of the mid-century American aesthetic, often romanticized for his effortless style and presence. What he wore and how he carried himself contributed to his larger-than-life image, but that was only part of the equation. He was both strong and silent, yet also affable and expressive—an unflappable competitor with a gracious and kind smile. His balance of boyish charm and rugged masculinity endeared him to men and women alike, making him one of the most marketable figures in sports.
He embodied a sense of casual cool that was easy to admire but difficult to replicate. And well, at the TGL, Billy Horschel was no different. Taking to this, one of them commented, “@billyho_golf absolute class 👌”. Another wrote, “@billyho_golf with the nod to Mr Palmer!”

Have an interesting take?
While Billy Horschel did in fact manage to pull out the Arnold Palmer style, there was a minor thing that turned out to be different. The king of casual looks, Palmer used to have a belt on his pants which made things all the more classy. On the other hand, Billy Horschel’s style was a bit on the modern side. It had ties instead of the belt. One of the fans was able to notice this intricate detail as well. Taking to it, they commented, “Great shirt, hair is just incredible, but Arnold Palmer would not have been caught dead in pants with a drawstring.”
Despite that, one of them simply suggested, “Billy should do the switch hit! 🔥”.
This is not the first time a junior golfer is seen following the footsteps of a senior golfer. Remember when Xander Schauffele celebrated the 2021 Ryder Cup victory in true John Daly fashion? That unforgettable moment at Whistling Straits saw him soaking in the win with a cigar in hand, marking one of the most iconic celebrations in recent golf history.
As the American battled it out on the course that year, fans couldn’t help but reflect on that legendary scene. The golf world had hoped for a repeat in future editions, all while remaining curious about the story behind the now-famous celebration. Taking to the incident, one of them even commented, “Gonna be really cool when Xander plays with a cigarette hanging from his lips.”
