All has been going well for the PGA professional, Michael Block. While the PGA Championship has been a showdown of some of the best golfers on the professional circuit, a golfer with no Tour card has taken away all the limelight. While his 15th-hole ace became the highlight of the Major, the iconic moment also marks a historical milestone in the world of golf.

Block has been a professional golfer since 1998, but he still hasn’t gotten hold of a PGA Tour membership. Nonetheless, the golfer has been proving to the world at the ongoing event that he doesn’t require a Tour card to create historic moments. Three holes before concluding his fifth PGA Championship, Michael ensured to create history in the sport of golf.

During the final round on Sunday, Block was paired with 4-time major winner Rory McIlroy. While the Northern Irish may have recorded a better score than his PGA Professional partner, Michael created history at the 15th hole at Oak Hill Country Club.

After scoring two bogeys in the front nine holes, Michael Block stunned everyone with a hole-in-one on the 15th hole. ‘No way’, said the 46-year-old after his unreal slam dunk. However, the ace wasn’t a regular shot like the one anyone has seen in the past 27 years. Block became the first PGA professional since Michael Bowman in the 1998 PGA Championship to record a hole-in-one.

While the stat itself is surprising enough, Michael Block has won more hearts in the golf world with his mesmerizing stroke. Though the golfer recorded a bogey on the very next hole, his ace was more than enough to forget all of his poor mistakes. He ended the event tied for 15th alongside tow Tour pros and walked away with a cool $288,333. Furthermore, this finish proves that Block may have a promising future on the PGA Tour!

If the PGA professional maintains the same position until the end of the major, then he will earn a spot at next year’s PGA Championship. However, if Block enhances further among the top 10 in the leaderboard, the PGA professional earns a spot for next month’s RBC Canadian Open.

But with him edging toward the end of his round, the chances are gradually diminishing for the golfer to make it to the top 10. Regardless, the 105th PGA Championship will always be remembered by the golf world for the iconic participation and ace of Michael Block!
