The PNC Championship doesn’t differentiate between the golfers. It offers the same course and competition to all golfers competing, irrespective of their gender and age. Among the many renowned names on the course, one is Bernhard Langer. After establishing himself as one of the most successful senior golfers, the German golfer is set to compete this weekend at Ritz Carlton GC!

The 66-year-old golfer has won the family event four times and is eyeing a fifth win this weekend. Before he tees up with Jason Langer, let us take a look at the weapons that the 12x senior major champion is carrying in his bag.

Bernhard Langer’s bag is the most diverse among most of the golfers. The German native uses equipment from various brands and clubs that are not as popular on the tour. Langer uses the PING G400 driver with 9 degrees of loft, and with it, he ranks 4th on driving accuracy and has a percentage of 77.52 for fairways made.

The G400 has an aerodynamic club head and maximum MOI, providing easy launching with added forgiveness and speed. The driver retails for $399 and is hard to find on the market as a new club. The fairway wood found in Langer’s bag is a PING G430 Max (3-Wood) with 15 degrees of loft.

It goes for $349.99 and has a lightweight head and “Spinsistency Technology.” The low weight offers a high launch, and the new technology provides forgiveness while minimizing spin. It also has a hosel that allows ±1.5-degree adjustments.

The 2x Masters champion has an Adams Idea Pro in 18 and 22 degrees with a Midas Filament Wound Nano Shaft. These clubs were released in 2007, however, they have forever found home in Langer’s bag, as the veteran seemed most comfortable with them. Despite being an old model, the clubs do provide optimal speed with low spin. They are difficult to find on the market and usually go for $250.

Langer’s arsenal of choice is much more elaborated than mentioned above, as he has a few more irons, wedges, and putters in his bag.

Irons, wedges, and putters

The 42x DPWT winner uses two different brands of irons. Langer uses Tour Edge Exotic CBX Forged (4-7) irons and Artisan Golf Custom (8-9) irons. Released in 2017, the 4-7 irons have a soft feel on impact and provide some forgiveness. Langer has modified his irons by increasing their weight, which gives them a higher launch.

The 8-9 irons are just made for Langer by Artisan and give him better workability and playability as they fit his needs. The German golfer has another two different sets of wedges. He uses the Tour Edge Exotic BL Proto (pitching wedge) and the Cleveland 588 Precision Forged Custom Tour ZIP wedges (56 and 60 degrees). Both provide a soft feel and a better spin.

Lastly, the putter used by the 3x PGA Tour winner is the Odyssey White Hot Long 2 Ball. The club offers a soft feel while providing more forgiveness on mis-hits and hitting far more accurate shots. With variety in his bag and an all-time winning streak in his career, the veteran golfer will try to tie the record of Raymon Floyd (5) at the PNC Championship and add another victory to his portfolio.
