During its beginning when LIV Golf sang the melodious song of money, golfers like Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood got lured to their tune and abandoned the DP World Tour ship. What followed was high-voltage drama where Garcia and the others who were charged with penalties for going against the European Tour left it with wild resignations.
But ever since they went to the other side, Sergio Garcia and his troop of defectors had little to no success. And now that one European defector has found his way back to the DP World Tour, the others must be regretting their resignation.

Austrian golfer Bernd Wiesberger played on the DP World Tour from 2011 until 2021. During the 10-year period, he enjoyed eight wins. He also played in the Ryder Cup in 2021. However, Bernd was among those who left the European Tour for LIV Golf. But when his position became vulnerable, the Saudi Arabian tour let him go. Luckily, his former Tour accepted him back with open arms. Wiesberger recently announced the news on the Internet.
“I am happy to announce that my focus for the next year will entirely be on the DP World Tour. I have never resigned my membership and therefore I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to play a full schedule once again,” he said. Now, he will be participating in the national championship, where he admitted that he never enjoyed any success in the past. The pro is not letting that stop him now.
Wiesberger looks forward to playing the nationals and will start in January 2024 with the Dubai event. The DPWT also said that they have accepted his application for 2024 after he completed his financial penalties and suspensions. They further added that Bernd Wiesberger “expressed his desire to play a full DP World Tour schedule.”
