As this year’s PGA Tour season comes to an end, the golf world is gearing up for the Ryder Cup. The 44th edition of the International event will take place at Guidonia Montecelio’s Marco Simone Golf and Country Club on September 29. Ahead of the event, however, a lot of controversy has been afloat about the final 12 players on each side.

However, in the face of this defeat too, he was nothing but class as he extended his support to the newest member of the European Ryder Cup team!

In 2021, Bernd Wiesberger created history when he became the first Austrian golfer to represent Europe at the Ryder Cup. played his way into Harrington’s team two years ago. Unfortunately, this is not the case this time.

While unlike the remaining LIV Golf players like Sergio Garcia and Ian Poulter, who gave up their DP World Tour membership, Wiesberger still holds his membership card thanks to paying the £100,000 fine that was imposed on him for his jump to the new series. This season, however, he was not able to perform well, which eventually led to him not being a captain’s pick for the Ryder Cup.

Even though he missed out on this year’s team that will play in Italy, his spirit has not dulled. In fact, Wiesberger proved his patriotism and cheered for the newest member of the European team, Robert MacIntyre. The 27-year-old automatically qualified for the European squad for the Ryder Cup yesterday, and for it, Wiesberger congratulated him on his Instagram story, writing, ”Very happy for this guy!”.

“You look at Sepp Straka; he’s been playing great. Bob MacIntyre is qualifying for the team at the moment, having finished second in his home Open in Scotland, and somebody like Adrian Meronk, who’s been playing great all year and he’s won on Marco Simone,” said Fleetwood, making it clear that he believed they deserved a shot to represent the European Team.

The final list of 12 will soon be announced, and it remains to be seen if Fleetwood or any of his picks will join MacIntyre. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
