Jin Young Ko is not a stranger to injuries and returning to the professional setup after recovering from it. At the end of the 2023 season, the South Korean pro was diagnosed with an ailing knee and had to withdraw from the CME Group Tour Championship after playing only one round. But she made her comeback in mid-February and has been trying to win again.
Now, her recovering body seems to have yet another thing to counter. After playing two rounds of the inaugural FM Championship, Ko finished T5 and would be in contention on the weekends. Hence, she was asked about her body and how it felt at the press conference at TPC Boston. Although it is not as aggravating as her prior injuries, Ko answered, “It’s good. This is my four weeks in a row so I’m little tired.”
The 29-year-old has been continuously playing since the Women’s Olympics at the Paris Games which was held between August 7th to 10th. Undoubtedly, Ko has been more fatigued than before, probably the reason why she missed the AIG Women’s Open cut. But fret not, the 15-time LPGA Tour winner has a solution in mind. She said, “I think I need to take a sleep like over ten hours every day.”

Jin Young Ko has shown why to never doubt her!
Back in 2020, Jin Young Ko’s struggle started with her wrist being in constant pain, although she did not let it harm her season. Despite her ailing wrist, Ko successfully bagged the 2020 CME Group Tour Championship. Come the 2021 season, and the wrist injury preceded but did it hurdle Ko again?

It surely did, yet, the Korean pro emerged victorious in three events that year and defended her title at the season-ending Tour Championship in Naples. With the nagging pain in her hand at the end of 2022, Ko said, “Even though I am having a hard time right now, the two events will make me stronger. I have to feel something from this pain and my difficult situation.”

Then in the 2023 season, things were not getting better either. Yet she defended the HSBC Women’s World Championship title and won the Cognizant Founders Cup. So even though Ko feels tired more than ever, the possibility of her winning an event can never be drawn out as she has won before even with her body not working in her favor. Will Jin Young Ko display similar prowess as she has in the past few seasons and card the first victory in 2024? It remains to be seen.
