The field will comprise of 156 players. Last year the victory was received by Trey Mullinax. But this year it is likely to see fresh faces like the world no. 112 Lucas Glover, who was the 2009 U.S. Open champion and had the top ten best finishes at this year’s Rocket Mortgage Classic and John Deere Classic. He also holds the top position in the power rankings. Alongside him, would be world no. 113 Taylor Pendrith, who is in search of his first PGA Tour title after finishing at T14 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Another one to notice would be 21-year-old Akshay Bhatia, who finished T35 at the 2023 John Deere Classic. Other than this, four past Barbasol winners will return including Grayson Murray.
Even this year, the Barbasol Championship format remains unchanged. It is a 72-hole event and in the beginning two rounds, the threesomes will remain paired. A cut after 32 holes will get the top 65 players and ties.
On the other hand, Barbasol Championship has a sudden-death playoff format, with playoff holes being 18,18, 9, and then 18 played repeatedly by qualifying players.
