The Augusta National Women’s Amateur is gearing up for its sixth edition this weekend from April 3 to April 6. The championship was announced in 2018, and since has provided a stage for female golfers to enter the sport competitively and increase the game’s reach. Jennifer Kupcho’s victory at the inaugural event in 2019 set a high benchmark and subsequent years saw the emergence of young talents like Tsubasa Kajitani, Rose Zhang, and Anna Davis.
The Champions Retreat Golf Club will host the first 36 holes of competition. On Friday, the whole field will play on the Augusta National GC in an official practice round. Players who make the cut will compete in the final round on April 6 at Augusta National. The stage is set for an interesting first round as we see who will play with whom and at what time.

The gates for fans will open at 7:30 AM, and will close after minutes. With competitors from 14 different nations fighting for the top spot, the inaugural round promises to be an exciting exhibition of skill. Some of the players to look out for would be the previous winner Anna Davis, the world no.1 amateur Ingrid Linblad and also the US Open champion Megan Schofill. And with them being placed in different groups, there will be enough action all throughout the day.
What’s in store and how to watch?

Fans can watch the first and second rounds live on Peacock or on Golf Channel from 1:30 to 3:30 PM EDT. On April 6th, from 12 to 3 PM EDT, NBC & Peacock will air the final round. Social media and ANWAgolf.com are other places where fans may catch all the action.

Although there is no prize money, the victor receives invitations to the major tournaments, invitation to play in Augusta National Women’s Amateurs for next five years (given she is still an amateur), and a one-year exemption for the USGA, R&A, and PGA of America amateur championships.
