It is not common to witness a great friendship between different sports players. But, something new has come to our notice recently at the No Laying Up Podcast featuring the Europe team captain Luke Donald. Where he was Sharing about the experience and the surprise of a great tennis player. In the podcast, fans got to know more about the friendship between tennis legend Novak Djokovic and Luke Donald.

Donald shares during the podcast how as a team they enjoy theme nights. Building on to their theme, he shared that Mondays focused on family nights, Tuesdays on casual evenings, and Wednesdays as a gala night. Thursdays are more focused on light and fun videos, as Fridays are the start of the tournaments. Following the party he shared, Novak joined the team for a party where he wanted to surprise everyone and did that with a great style.

Sharing how Djokovic surprised the team even though everyone knew he was coming was amazing. The tennis player joined the party night dressed up as a waiter and served everyone champagne. He did such a great job and to make it even better, he brought his Wimbledon Trophy. While talking about Djokovic, Donald discussed some positives about him, precisely pointing out that he might not be the ideal one for the fans or the media, “But you meet Novak and he is the nicest, caring, most down-to-earth guy. I think he has had a lot of people against him for whatever reason. But it’s how he uses that and reframes it into a positive really,” said Donald.

Continuing about his personality, he said it was fun to have him. This was just the first impression of the team with him. Even so, Donald continued to praise ‘Noll’ for his nature. while continuing the discussion during the podcast, Donald said he knows how to deal with the crowd that is not on your side. This could be seen in his career and how he deals with the game even in the toughest of situations. This was just a short portion of the video which focused mostly on Donald praising Novak Djokovic. Other than this, the Ryder Cup was also discussed during the podcast.

Luke Donald has been part of the European team for four times and has won each time. His great game sense and leadership quality then helped him become the vice-captain of the team in 2018. Later, in 2022-23, he was promoted to captain of the team. For which he has proved to be the right decision. He also turned out to be a great motivator and proved how good captains can lead the team to victory. With the last win in 2023, even Rory McIlroy cannot stop himself from praising the great captain of the European team. He said to Sky Sports after the event, “He just filled us with so much confidence. Everything he told us just made us believe ‘we’re going to beat them.” McIlroy has played under seven different captains and him saying positive words assure that Donald has been a great asset to the team.

Luke Donald celebrated after the win, which was his first victory as the captain. Now as the team will get Sergio Garcia back in the team hopefully, it will be great news for the team’s Ryder Cup 2025. It will be a delight for the fans to watch the European team at the Ryder Cup aiming to defend their title. But will the U.S. let it happen on their home soil?
