As siblings and fellow athletes, Jessica Korda, Nelly Korda, and Sebastian Korda have always had each other’s back throughout their careers. Whether it is the tennis star tagging along with his sister to fanboy over Tiger Woods at the PNC Championship or the eldest two listening to the commentary of their younger sibling’s tennis events while they are practicing, the sibling bond is visible in whatever they do. 

As a tennis professional, his getting a chance to participate in Wimbledon is a big deal. And Sebastian Korda finally got that chance in 2021. He knew how important it was and respected being able to compete with many big names in the tennis world at the All England Club. However, he also couldn’t help himself from getting happy for his sister for winning her first major championship at the Women’s PGA Championship.

A 15-foot par putt on the final hole at the Atlanta Athletic Club locked the first-ever major victory for the LPGA star Nelly Korda in 2021. With the win, she also rose to the number one position on the Rolex World Rankings for female golfers. And her younger brother couldn’t be more proud of her.

“The last few days have been pretty crazy,” Sebastian said, according to golfchannel.com, after winning his debut match at Wimbledon. “My sister (Nelly) winning her first major,” he added. “And now at No. 1 in the world is incredible.”

Notably, according to a ‘Sports Illustrated’ article, it is the first time an American female golfer has made it to the world no. 1 position since Stacy Lewis in 2014. Hence, it was a one-of-a-kind achievement for Nelly, and her brother knew the importance of it.

The Korda family has three active professional athletes in it. Jessica, the eldest of the three, was the first to step into the professional world and has won 6 times. However, it is only Nelly who has ever won a major title. Hence, Sebastian Korda found himself think his elder sister in a different light. “She’s 22 and already doing crazy stuff,” he further said to the media. “And it’s inspirational.”

All three children of Petr Korda and Regina Rajchrtová, the former professional tennis players, are exceptionally talented. Moreover, the three shares an amazing bond with each other.
