World No. 2 Nelly Korda has been in formidable form so far in 2023. Last month, she came close to nabbing her 2nd major title as she finished solo third behind Lilia Vu and Angel Yin. She followed it up with another good outing at the JM Eagle LA Championship, where the 24-year-old managed to finish tied for 6th.
Earlier this month, however, the LPGA sensation shockingly failed to make the cut at the Founders Cup and is also not a part of the ongoing Bank of Hope LPGA Match Play event in Las Vegas. As she now spends some time away from the greens, Korda took to social media to drop a refreshing update, even wowing her siblings, Sebastian and Jessica Korda!

Nelly Korda’s missed cut at the Cognizant Founders Cup broke her impressive streak of top-10 finishes in eight of her last nine starts. She lost the top spot in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings to the tournament’s winner and LPGA star Jin Young Ko.
As of now, Korda is taking some time off from competing in events due to an injury. However, the major winner does offer insights into her daily life from time to time. Just last week, the Olympic gold medalist surprised many with her intense training regimen back home. Meanwhile, on Friday, she dropped stunning photos of her having a good time at a cafe in Tampa, Florida.

Her siblings, whom Korda is extremely close to, showered the photos with compliments. “What do the kids say these days… slay?” commented her older sister and fellow LPGA Tour player, Jessica Korda. “Slay,” read a comment from brother and tennis star Sebastian Korda. Even fellow golfers Sophia Popov and Megan Khang chimed in with compliments under her Instagram post.
Korda’s latest update comes after she recently announced her withdrawal from next month’s Mizuho Americas Open. She cited the pain in her back as the reason behind the decision.
When will Korda return to the course?
Eight-time LPGA Tour winner Nelly Korda will be missing from the field at the upcoming Mizuho Americas Open due to back-related troubles. “I have made the decision to withdraw from the next week’s tournament at the advice of my medical team to address pain in my back,” she wrote in her Instagram story.

Korda further shared that her team was working on a treatment plan to ensure she was “back to 100% soon” for the rest of the season. The golfer had initially suffered a back injury in the first round of the 2020 Women’s PGA Championship, which rendered her incapable of competing until December of that year.
She may make a comeback in the Meijer LPGA Classic, which starts on June 15. The second major of the year, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, is also slated to take place from June 22 to 25. Korda won the event in 2021 and will be vying to add a second one to her list of accomplishments.
