‘The golden bear’ competed and won in the charity event for the PGA Tour’s Ally Challenge last year. Although he does not play very often, Nicklaus’ gameplay is still impressive. He became the audience’s favorite by winning them $2 beers.
The legend was competing against NBA star, Jalen Rose. And it was decided that if he gets to the greens, everyone will buy a beer for just $2 for 68 minutes. As Nicklaus made the shot to the greens, the crowd erupted in cheers. They got to buy cheaper beers just because of Nicklaus’ exceptional performance.
A while ago before, the 83-year-old went to play some golf with his son and grandsons. “I took Jackie and J3, his son, and Charlie, who is one of his boys, up to Augusta,” Nicklaus said.
He had some inflammation, but it somehow resolved itself and he was able to play. So the golf great played the next day and the day after. Moreover, he even decided to compete in the Ally Challenge.
Although the legend does not like his performance of the course anymore, he loves golf too much to put the club down.

Who is Nicklaus off the course?
The legend has always aimed to strike a good balance between his golfing career and his family life. He always kept his children above his professional commitments.
Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation was started by the golfer and his wife Barbara in 2004. After a health scare, they had with their daughter, Nan O’Leary, the pair pledged to help children and through this organization; they aim to provide children around the world with innovative pediatric healthcare.
