The PGA Tour might be a staple item on a golf enthusiast’s plate, but there are other golfing tours on the calendar. These include the DP Tour events, the Asian Tour, and many other golf organizations, and, of course, the LIV Golf Series, too.

But behind all the extravaganza are some of the lesser-known tournaments conducted by the PGA itself. Those include the numerous Amateur competitions happening around America, under an organization called the PGA Amateur Golf. One of its players has gained the limelight after a stellar performance, which drew appreciation from none other than PGA Tour specialist Max Homa.

The man who has made Max Homa proud is 22-year-old Gregory Odom Jr. While he has been a regular at the Amateur events, the now-popular golfer made his PGA Tour debut recently, which became quite the news amongst the famous Blue Bisons.

That was due to Odom’s university days at Howard, which resulted in a loud uproar when the young golfer teed up at the TPC Potomac. Playing on a sponsor’s exemption, he became the first-ever Howard graduate to appear on the PGA Tour.

While Odom hobbled over to a 7-over-par 77 in his opening round, he was full of ecstasy after his history-making appearance. “Man, I loved it,” Odom said. “All the people that came out here to support me, all I can say is thank you, and I enjoyed it out here.”
