Will bad weather ruin the Ascension Charity Classic, or will the PGA Tour Champions rise to the challenge?

The rain is no new guest for the PGA Tour Champions. Though, a rather unpleasant one indeed! Back in February, the final round of the Chubb Classic had to be canceled due to terrible weather conditions. This was why right after playing 36 holes, Stephen Ames was declared the winner at the event. Looks like this weekend too, rain might end up playing a spoilsport.

The Ascension Charity Classic is scheduled from September 6 to September 8 at the Norwood Hills Country Club. The $2.1 million purse tournament is predicted to encounter weather just as harsh!

The Ascension Charity Classic begins in a few hours and according to the AccuWeather reports, the opening round will have, “Intervals of clouds and sun with a shower in spots; cooler.” The temperature is predicted to rise to 26 degrees and go as low as 12 degrees. There is an 8% possibility of thunderstorms and a 40% possibility of rain, which is predicted to go on for about an hour and a half.

There might be visibility issues as there will be a 50% cloud cover with wind gusts blowing at a rapid speed of 44 km/h. On the second day, the weather will be comparatively pleasant. With a temperature between 8 degrees to 21 degrees, there is no probability of thunderstorms. Making it all the better, the cloud cover is only 11%, with wind gusts blowing at a speed of 33 km/h.

So if you’re visiting, all you need to do is carry enough warm clothes to beat the cold. Although there might be patchy clouds in the finale of the Ascension Charity Classic, it will be free from any weather turbulence. It is safe to say that if the opening round goes off uninterrupted, the players will have a great run at the Norwood Hills Country Club.
