The sporting world is set to see an exciting week of golf as the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open takes place at the Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver, Canada. While the community is eagerly waiting for the start of the tournament, LPGA stars including Nelly Korda and Rose Zhang hit their stride in regard to preparations.
Their divergent styles of preparation paint an intriguing picture. Zhang, often compared to the legend of the game, was seen laying the groundwork in a different way than that of Korda, who took a lighter approach surprising the golf community as a whole. Let’s dive into the story.

Different golfers have different methods of preparing for an event and the same can be seen in the case of the LPGA stars as they gear up for the tournament, eyeing the biggest cut of the $2.5 million prize purse. The golfers shared an update, a while back, on their Instagram handles about the same.
Rose Zhang unveiled a video of her training in a gym known as FitMotionLab. The 20-year-old can be seen doing side lunges with a slider abductor focusing on her right leg. Her training video exuded a sense of intense determination and focus on her physical fitness in her bid to get ready for the upcoming challenge.
On the other hand, Korda’s story turned out to be in stark contrast to the young golfer’s preparation. In the photo shared on her Instagram handle, the 25-year-old LPGA icon was seen getting ready to have a coffee before traveling to Canada. She uploaded the story with the caption: “One last coffee @🏚️ before heading to 🇨🇦”.
The field is set as the list of 156 players gear up to duke it out the course to take the winner’s cut of $375,000. The two LPGA Cover girls will hope to put up a good display of golf as they take part in the tournament after a rough run at the Walton Heath Old Course earlier this month.

Although termed as the rising star of women’s golf, Rose could not exhibit her best on the course during the major as she finished at T44 with a score of 292 (+4). She was able to score below par only in the second round where the 20-year-old settled for a one-under 71 while turning in an even 72, 75 (+3), and a two-over 74 on the first, third, and fourth and final rounds. Moreover, she could only manage to take home a cut of $33,552 from the $9 million purse.
