The full roster of Tiger Woods’ upcoming TGL is finally out. The team sheet was revealed by Nuclr Golf via Twitter on Tuesday, and the reactions to the list have been mixed. The list includes some names that are fairly new to the professional realm of golf, and this has left the golfing community divided about why some big names were left out.
As per the final list, the roster now has a diverse field of 24 players, including Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Tom Kim, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Adam Scott, Collin Morikawa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Billy Horschel, Justin Rose, Max Homa, Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Tyrrell Hatton, Cameron Young, Sahith Theegala, Keegan Bradley, Lucas Glover, Wyndham Clark, Min Woo Lee and Kevin Kisner.
While the majority of the names on the list are of players who have been active on the greens lately, some of the additions do raise eyebrows because of the latest form of the players. But a recent revelation about their selection makes perfect sense.
The list didn’t include the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Viktor Hovland, and Tony Finau, who were all expected to be on the roster for sure. Nuclr Golf quoted the tweet and clarified logically why some of the players were left out.
The Tweet claimed that many of the non-TGL players lived far away from the state of Florida, which is going to play host to the tech-infused league. It stated the example of Jordan Spieth, a Texas native, who’ll have to drive more than a thousand miles to play in the TGL events.
🚨A lot of the guys who aren’t playing TGL simply don’t live in and around the state of Florida. Logistically it probably just didn’t make sense for some. No surprise for example that Jordan Spieth won’t be commuting to Florida for TGL matches from Texas https://t.co/awHllTrHCS

The desire to see Woods’s tech-based golf event has the community buzzing with excitement, especially after realizing how fun and unique the experience is going to be.
