With Thanksgiving’s grandiose season entry, many golfers have taken to SNS to update the sports silo about how they are spending their holidays. Max Homa, Talor Gooch, and many others are getting to spend a wholesome Thanksgiving this time around. What might we see them doing in their free time for the next season?

The golfing silo is excited to spend their off-season time. This year’s LIV Golf champion, Talor Gooch, has posted about his holiday plans. The golfer has taken to his X handle and posted a family picture of him, his wife, and his daughter. The tweet reads: “Grateful for an incredible year with my family and more blessings to come. Happy Thanksgiving!”

Just like Gooch, in a recent Instagram story update, PGA Tour golfer Max Homa, after raking in his first DP World Tour win, has also posted about how he will be spending his time off the greens. The golfer has posted a picture of him with his wife with the hashtag: #thankful.
LIV Golf player Ian Poulter has also shared a slew of stories on his Instagram showing the world his holiday takes. The golfer has posted behind-the-scenes pictures from his kitchen counter. His updates feature a roast turkey, a plate brimming with veggies, and “a bucket load of home-made gravy.” The player has also posted some fun pictures of his dog, his wife, and himself with filters as the family enjoys their time together.
Thanksgiving has had its long ties with the pro golfing realm even outside of just celebration. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that even the holiday season is not safe from controversies in the world of golf. The major throwback dates to 2019—a JT remark.
Justin Thomas’ 2019 Turkey Tale
Justin Thomas has had his fair share of humorous takes, but the one that takes the baton is his comment from three years ago. In 2019, JT tweeted that “Thanksgiving dinner is overrated. If it was that good, we would eat it all the time.” This remark gained the golfer a lot of spotlight from all around.
