On Saturday, when asked about what she would do with the big check if she goes on to win, Tardy said she would buy a house. “I’ve lived with my parents for the majority of my life and moved down to Florida for the off-season, and then this has been like the first time I’ve lived in Atlanta not in my parents’ home.”.

She added, “So definitely – solely because I couldn’t afford it. I couldn’t pay for rent and I didn’t think it was worth paying rent when I was on the road so much. So yeah, definitely buying a home and having a nice backyard for my dog to run in.” 

Tardy is at present four shots off the pace and a great round on Sunday can help her realize her dream of buying a house.

She fired a 3-under 69 in the first round to be placed tied third. Tardy followed it up with 68 in her second round, leaving her atop the leaderboard with a 7-under 137 total. Things looked good for her at that moment.
