Since the 2024 season is just at a distance of a couple of months, the PGA Tour is making some enhancements in its policies for the upcoming season. On November 10, Eric Baldwin, PGA Tour Vice President, Tournament Business Affairs, released a memo.

The memo addresses a series of minor and major changes on the Tour. The PGA, who is in the fear of losing its star player Jon Rahm to the rival league LIV Golf, has made some big decisions for player comfort.

Jon Rahm is one of the strongest and most sought-after golfers in the world. This is why LIV Golf has tried multiple times to get him on their team. And after the Spanish golfer backed out of TGL, those rumors flared up again. Meanwhile, the PGA Tour is also under the fear of losing one of their best players. Hence, in its 2024 enchantment policy, the Tour has given him special considerations.

Rahm has made a few requests about some basic needs of having bathroom privileges on every hole. “I’ve mentioned many times making the Tour better for the players, and I mean that.” Rahm said, “The very basic things they can do in tournaments to make them all as good as they can be is where I’d like to see some changes. It’s not usually what’s on people’s minds.”

With the fear of losing their star players over filial matters, the league agreed to all of his genuine demands. There are other enhancements besides this as well. From next year, the PGA Tour golfers will have at least one relief station on every hole on all the courses for the upcoming tournaments. Sports Business Journal’s Josh Carpenter has shared the list of these changes on the internet.

To help the golfers and the caddies, a complimentary courtesy car program and fixed locations will be available at every tournament. There has also been some elevation in the diets of the players that will be induced by boosted nutrition levels. After requests, the committee will “evaluate the food and beverage programs they are currently implementing”.

Other enhancements in 2024 by PGA Tour

In another important enhancement, the Tour will also be working on the parking options on-site for players and their spouses / families, as well as the caddies, coaches, agents/managers, and other support team constituents. Now this specific policy is a big setback for LPGA, whose players have still to suffer for basic facilities like a locker and bathroom.

The men’s tour will also provide complimentary laundry and dry cleaning services for the players and the caddies. Looks like the PGA Tour is leveling up its game to make sure that it doesn’t lose any golfers to LIV Golf in 2024.
