Stacey Lewis, the USA Team Captain expressed her strong will and determination to secure the Cup for her county. She pondered over the fact that it will certainly be a challenge since the European team is quite strong. However, she too has stalwarts of golf like Nelly Korda, Lydia Ko, Lilia Vu, Allisen Corpuz, Lexi Thompson, Rose Zhang and Megan Khang on her team.

The Europeans will also have a home turf advantage since the Cup is being hosted by Spain this year and the gallery will be swamped by the European fans. However, Lewis said: “It will undoubtedly be a tough task but I know that every player on our team will be extremely motivated to reclaim the Solheim Cup.”

She and her team members are focusing on preparing for playing at the Spanish venue without much national support being present to cheer them on.
