The LIV Golf League 2023 season is needed with fervor. Players and teams made good money playing in the league, and the viewers had a lot to look forward to. With controversies and rule changes being a part of the LIV legacy, less to say, the season did see some dramatics. Now, with a new season coming up next year, some newly made changes ahead of the start have hooked the audience.
Greg Norman’s LIV Golf recently announced a change in player movements, course choices, financial gains, and more prior to its upcoming season. Some players, as per the new rules, won’t be seen on the greens in 2024. Out of these transfer window players, some have been offered a contract extension. Off-season dynamics unveil LIV Golf’s transfer plans and contract extensions

Golf writer Matt Vincenzi recently took to his X handle to update the golf silo about the off-season plans of the LIV League. Vincenzi’s tweet focused on, specifically, the transfer window, the free agency of the players, trades within teams, and a rough timeline sketch of now vs. the get-go of the next season.
Based on the transfer zone’s ‘Lock Zone’ phase, five players have been offered contract extensions. The names on the list are of some players who occupy a spot in the top 24 on the LIV ranking board. Golfers offered the extension are Peter Uihlein, 12th on the leaderboard; Crushers GC’s Anirban Lahiri; Carlos Ortiz, positioned at 15th; Richard Bland of the Cleeks GC; and Iron Heads GC player Scott Vincent.
Vincenzi’s tweet also specified that if any of the players in this phase decides to reject the offer of a contract extension from his 2023 team, “he will become a free agent and may be signed by another team with an open roster spot.”

In recent times, LIV Golf has come up with some new rule changes. These changes include the introduction of a ‘transfer window’ designed to introduce a strata movement for players outside of their teams, free agency to pick what side to play for, and brand new team rosters.
As far as the “Transfer Zone” category is concerned, the strata includes Lock Zone, with the top 24 players now getting a contract renewal; Open Zone, for the players listed between 25 and 44; and Drop Zone, where players taking spots 45 and below are relegated, including names like Chase Koepka, Jed Morgan, and James Piot.
