It finally took a dig from Brooks Koepka for LIV Golf to release the full schedule for circa 2024. The American golfer was ostensibly getting edgy with the delay. The Saudi-backed Tour had earlier released only its Adelaide event’s itinerary, to be held in April 2024.
The third season of LIV Golf would tee off at Mayakoba in Mexico from February 2 to 4, 2024. A total of 14 events would be played – five in the United States of America, three in Asia, two in Europe and one in Australia. LIV Golf, however, is yet to announce the dates and venues for the Individual Championship and Team Championship.

A hilarious exchange of words on Instagram saw LIV Golf finally release the two-thirds of the schedule for next year. The Tour’s Instagram handle posted screenshots of Phil Mickelson, Bryson Dechambeau, Talor Gooch, Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson, and asked the fans: “Who’s DM are you replying to?” (sic)
Koepka, the Smash GC captain, couldn’t resist a dig and replied to the post: “The DM with the schedule for next year would be nice.” The breakaway Tour acted in earnest, although it momentarily kept the suspense alive by saying: “Got something for you BK”. The schedule followed, accompanied by: “Let’s go!!”
Koepka’s model-actress wife Jena Sims decided to join the fun and sort of took the mickey out of her husband. “Grabs calendar,” she posted on Instagram. The five-time Major winner had been pretty vocal about LIV Golf not releasing the next year’s schedule.

Earlier, when LIV Golf had made an Instagram post about some of their top players wearing fashionable Nike shoes and asked the fans which pair they would prefer on the course, Koepka replied: “We don’t know what course because we haven’t seen the schedule.”

The breakaway league has 12 teams and recently it announced that it would open a transfer window for the 2024 season, where the players could be traded.
In search for stability
“The league has launched the sport’s first-ever transfer window with player movement, free agency and new team rosters in progress as momentum builds for LIV Golf’s second full season teeing off in 2024,” LIV Golf had said in a statement earlier this month.

LIV Golf has a shorter season compared to the PGA Tour. But the league is still in its infancy, searching for stability. Uncertainty over scheduling and other experiments attest that.
