Music, booze, and golf fans usually go hand in hand! So, as LIV Golf offers all the things at once, the fans do seem to enjoy it to the fullest. One such hilarious moment was captured from LIV Golf Greenbrier’s site as a fan indulged in a burger despite the rain soaking them and their food. The rain didn’t faze the fan from eating the burger, as the league joked on X sharing the clip, “Nothing is getting between this man and his burger.”

But the breakaway league isn’t the only circuit that enjoys these out-of-the-blue fan moments. The veteran in the golf world, the PGA Tour, has many in its locker. From the unpredictable WM Phoenix Open to the weirdest fan gift Rory McIlroy ever received, here are the top three fan moments from the PGA Tour!

1. The chaotic WM Phoenix Open

When talking about bizarre fan moments from the PGA Tour’s side, how can the loudest tournament of the Tour be forgotten? Through and through, the WM Phoenix Open offers the most hilarious fan moments time and again as the netizens let loose themselves and prove why it is also called the People’s Open. And this year’s edition was no different.

Many things happened at TPC Scottsdale, including a fan being carried away drunk, that amazed even Paige Spiranac. Another incident that took the golf world by a whirlwind was fans running a marathon as soon as the gates opened on Friday and screaming at the top of their lungs to show their excitement.

Last but not least was the unexpected cosplay at TPC Scottsdale. No, we are not talking about banana outfits or Min Woo Lee duplicates. This is about a fan who flaunted a bridal gown on TPC Scottsdale with a beer in one hand and displayed the crazy scene that could only be witnessed at the WM Phoenix Open.

2. An unexpected fan gift to Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy’s decade-long career has seen everything that the golf world could offer: the good, the bad, and the worse. But he was given the weirdest gift by a fan at the 2016 Wells Fargo Championship. He was playing as the defending champion, paired with Rickie Fowler. As the Ulsterman approached the par-3 sixth hole, a fan threw a golf ball near him. And not just that, the ball had an earplug attached to it. McIlroy was truly taken aback, as he later said, “It was sort of weird. That’s never really happened.” 

Even Fowler, who has had plenty of fan moments, was astonished as he said, “So random. The guy tried to say it was a gift. I don’t know why you would give a gift of a golf ball with an earplug attached to it.” The Northern Irishman did the sensible things most pros would do; he called the officials, and the fan was removed from the course. The fan sure wouldn’t have thought that McIlroy wouldn’t like their gift!

3. A fan forgets they are at a PGA Tour event

Well, Brandt Snedeker was not expecting that a fan would forget they were at a golf tournament and not at a baseball match! Yet, the fan did forget, and interestingly, faced no penalty. Snedeker was playing in the third round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with his partner Chez Reavie. At the par-3 third hole, the 9-time PGA Tour winner hit the tee shot, which made its way to the golf cart path but could not be settled because of an excited fan.

This fan was enthralled that the Titleist ball had flown towards him, and in that thrill, he caught the ball. In a few seconds, with other fans screaming ‘NO!’, he realized the mistake he had made. He quickly dropped the ball and covered his mouth in embarrassment. The ESPN+ commentator joked, “That’s a kid who plays a lot of baseball. He just forgot.” But in the end, all was good, as Snedeker could still play the same ball and complete his shot.
