As Jessica Korda Brings Up Her Unique Gig on LPGA One Last Time, Her Colleague’s Honest Confession Takes Center Stage

Ever since Jessica Korda announced her pregnancy on Instagram in an adorable manner, she has been maintaining her distance from playing professionally. However, a true golfer at heart, her condition can’t stop her from getting involved in the sport one way or another.

Last weekend she made her debut as an on-course reporter during the ladies’ tour championship. Her unusual gig and all the efforts she made towards it was much loved by fans. And the love she received was not just limited to fans. She also received it from fellow LPGA stars.

Lydia Ko is amazed by Jessica Korda’s multiple talents

Last week the LPGA hosted a spectacular grand finale of the CME Tour Championship at the Tiburón Golf Club, Gold Course. Marking her winning performance on the tour, Amy Yang claimed the shining trophy and the first prize of a whopping $2 million. It was a big week for Yang and it was for Jessica Korda too.

The seven-month-pregnant Korda trod across the Tiburón Course as an ESPN special team member for the live broadcast of the tournament. She interviewed many players including her younger sister Nelly Korda. It was a sweet bonding moment between the siblings. Jessica was super excited to take on this role and announced it through Twitter last week writing “Y’all said I should do this sooooo here we gooooo!!! Excited for this!”

This way Korda fulfilled her absence on the playing field. And after the job well done, Jessica happily posted how much fun she had as a reporter. On her Instagram, she posted a series of pictures of her from the event. She wrote in the caption “Tried something new and loved it. Thank you @lpga_tour and @espn for letting me take over the mic this week at @cmegrouptourchamp”

Replying to this Lydia Ko left a comment admiring her, “Question, what are you not good at?” Ko was not playing in the event despite being the defending champion as she failed to qualify. But she recognized the brilliant efforts of her LPGA colleague.

Jessica Korda indulges in personal celebration after hosting

Jessica Korda was joined on course by Maria Fassi who did reporting and interviews for ESPN+’s 30 hours of featured groups coverage. After she broke the news on Twitter she received much love from fans. They found her a perfect fit for the job given her golfing experience. After successfully performing her CME gig, the elder Korda celebrated her baby shower as well.

A recent Instagram story by Alison Lee shows Megan Khang, Nelly Korda, and herself joining Korda in her celebration. Korda is due in February for her first child with husband Johnny DelPrete.
