Spieth was a formidable part of the men’s golf team at Texas during 2011-12, and post this he embarked on his journey into the world of professional golf. He was a first team All-American. He was also the finalist for the Ben Hogan Award as the National Player of the Year.

He achieved all this in his one full season of collegiate golf. He lead his golf team at 2012 NCAA Championship which was played at Riviera Country Club near Los Angeles.
