LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman and South Australian premier Peter Malinauskas announced jointly that the breakaway league will return to Adelaide for the second time next year. Last year’s event was a huge success for both parties. The event was attended by over 77K people across three days from 37 different countries. Not surprising, that the state earned $65 million in revenue.

Pinning their hopes on last year’s triumph, Norman announced the dates for the next Adelaide event on Saturday. Last year it was the fourth event of the season. This time it’s not yet clear, whether LIV Golf will follow the same route of reaching Adelaide via Mayakoba, Arizona, and Orlando. Nevertheless, here are five things we know and you should be aware of as well.

Date

LIV Golf announced that it will return to Adelaide on April 26-28, 2024. It’s returning around the same time as the previous year, when the Saudi-baked league made a stop at Adelaide on April 21-23.

Venue

Same as the previous year, The Grange Golf Club will host the tournament this time too. It’s only fitting after last year’s blistering success that they chose to return to the same venue again. Not to forget that, on the East Course at the Grange Golf Club, Greg Norman won his first professional victory. The West Lakes Classic is in the annals of golf history books when a 21-year-old Norman set a record 64 to bag his first career victory.

Tickets

Hospitality tickets will be up for sale on Nov. 15. Additionally, for LIV X members tickets will get pre-sale access to ground passes on Dec. 5. As per the official statement, for everyone else the sale starts on 6 Dec.

The field for LIV Golf Adelaide

Home star Cameron Smith of Ripper GC is present in Adelaide. Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, and Phil Mickelson all will return to South Australia. Accompanying them will be the defending champion and 2023 season leader Talor Gooch. However, last year’s ace-in-hole hero Chase Koepka’s return is in doubt. He needs to be in the top three spots at the Promotions tournament in December.

Entertainment opportunities

What is LIV Golf without a dash of entertainment? The 12th hole is famous for its stadium which is rare to spot on golf courses. And a stadium in an Australian golf course means beers and entertainment galore. Norman is looking to expand on that.

Interestingly, this news comes amidst the ongoing $3B merger saga. With only a month and a half left before the deadline, the June deal is sure to miss it.
