The 39-year-old celebrated U.S. Open champion of Pebble Beach in 2019 is going through health challenges. He is ranked 94th in FedEx Cup points, missing out on the playoffs.

As the Former US Open champion undergoes a tragic ordeal he shared a health update talking about his health conditions two weeks ago, today he has shared another update on which stars like Justin Thomas and other golf figures relay their best wishes to him.

US Former Championship shares an update

The US former Champion Gary Woodland shared the news just two weeks ago on social media by sharing a post, he mentioned, “On 18 September I’ll be having surgery to remove a lesion found on my brain.”He shared that he discovered his condition a few months back. Since then, he’s been observing the symptoms and exploring multiple medication options following his diagnosis on Aug 30.

After consultations with medical experts and discussions with his family, surgery emerged as the best course of action. He expressed deep gratitude in the post for everyone’s steadfast support during these challenging times. In a recent update, his social media post mentioned, “After a long surgery today, the majority of the tumor has been removed and he is currently resting. At this time the family requests space and privacy to be together” referring to his successful operation.

The post received lots of good wishes from the fans and well-known entities. PGA Tour Star Justin Thomas took to social media and re-shared the health update post by mentioning, ” to my brother” praying for his faster recovery. While Tom Pernice commented, “We will continue to pray for Gary and his family”

The comments didn’t stop there, Emiliano Grillo commented, “Vamos hermano ” which translates as, Come on brother’ in Spanish. Karin Hart commented, “Get well soon, Gary! ”  Having received support from the fraternity and everyone wishing for his fast recovery shows how the community is together praying and supporting during tough times.

Praying for a speedy recovery and a comeback on greens

He played in 24 tournaments last season by making the cut 18 times and achieving two top-10 spots. The golfer was last seen in competitive action at the Wyndham Championship 2023. Displaying great form, he concluded the event with a score of seven-under-par over four days and secured a tie for 27th place. At the 18th hole during one of the rounds, he opted for a low stinger shot with a three-wood, a decision that didn’t pan out as hoped.

His overall performance was exceptional landing him in the top 30. We wish him to recover soon after this successful surgery and have an exceptional return to the greens.
