Anthony Kim made a comeback earlier this year after a prolonged hiatus. Was it grand? We’ll leave that to you to decide. At the LIV Golf Jeddah in March, his name was announced as a wild card member. His wild card entry did not guarantee him a permanent spot. This move not only revitalized his career but also raised questions about the status of his $10 million insurance policy, which stipulated non-participation in professional golf. The specifics of his arrangement with the insurer remain undisclosed, fueling speculation among fans and analysts.

Before this, Kim was last seen in the summer of 2012, teeing off at the Wells Fargo Championship. He ended up in the 56th position on the LIV’s standings. Nonetheless, the money has not been very bad so far.

Reports suggest that he received a signing bonus ranging between $5 million and $7.5 million. He failed to acquire even one top-30 finish throughout the season. He played in 11 events, finishing 50 and above in 5 of them. His best finish of the season was T36 in Greenbrier. Not so much of a best finish, right? He last teed up in Chicago, where he finished 42nd.

According to the Golf Monthly, he has earned a whopping $928,417 from LIV Golf this season. His earning potential started to build momentum as the season progressed. For placements between 54th and 52nd, LIV Golf guaranteed $50,000, increasing to $60,000 for 51st to 49th positions. Over the second half of the campaign, Kim showcased improvement, solidifying his return with stronger finishes and earnings growth.

What can Anthony Kim’s return look like?

Kim was exempt from relegation along with Hudson Swafford, who was another wildcard entry with him. This is because of their wildcard status. According to The Mirror, Swafford could be seen the next season. Close sources to LIV have shared that Swafford will be offered a contract, but its details are not hatched out as of yet.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Anthony Kim reclaim his former glory, or is he just cashing in on LIV Golf?

Have an interesting take?

There have been claims that he might return as a single wild card, and some have stated that there are chances that a wild card team will be put together, which will compete along with the other existing teams, which Kim could become a part of. And there have also been speculations that he might end up earning a spot on one of the thirteen teams. His name has often been associated with Dustin Johnson, and the 4 Aces captain has also been on the lookout for a new younger player. While this might not fit him at the age of 39, there is still a probability for him to make it to the team.
