Tiger Woods might be on a break but his previous achievements need no introduction. Every golfer on the Tour, no matter how strong, fears going against him. But it looks like with his yesterday’s record, Adam Long has managed to beat Woods in this one aspect.

The Bermuda Championship is being held at the El Cardonal, which was designed by Tiger Woods. And as noted by players, it is known for its particularly forgiving fairways. But yesterday Long was in no need to accept failure. One after one he delivered 69 fairway hits, which is 10 more than the previous record set by Brian Claar in 1992.

He kept his streak going till the 15th hole and with this; he managed to beat the 32-year-old record in the event. And this has also helped him leave Tiger Woods in his dust. When it comes to consecutive fairways hit Woods unexpectedly stands on the list much below tied with the rank 355. He has the best streak of 7 and his current streak is 0. He is tied with other players like Will Zalatoris Cameron Smith, and numerous other players for this spot.

If Woods wants to top this chart then he would have to work very hard as the competition is tough and the bar is set high by Adam Long. The American talked about his mentality before achieving the historic milestone.

Speaking about his success in an interview after the match was over yesterday, Long said if everyone had not come up to him and said something in the last 24 hours then he probably wouldn’t have thought about it as much as he did. He adds, “But it was in my mind, for sure, to start. Hit a hybrid on the first and then the second fairway’s really hard to hit.”

He continues, “Luckily it was kind of into the wind so I hit a driver and hung in the fairway somehow and perfectly in the middle, so after that, I was just kind of coasting.” Now three more rounds are remaining. If Long continues this amazing streak, then no one could stop him from winning this weekend.
