When Charley Hull boarded the flight to USA, she was expecting to defend her title at the Ascendants LPGA Benefitting Volunteers of America but it wasn’t to be so. However, despite failing to defend her crown, she has found strong backing from her fans as she looks to take a short break — again.

Notably, this is not her first career break this season. Earlier this year, she took four weeks off as she was struggling with ADHD. A rejuvenated Hull made a strong return at the US Women’s Open tying for the second spot. Now, after her defeat in the Ascendants LPGA, she feels she needs another break and fans stand by her side.

Carrying the momentum from last year’s victory at the Ascendants LPGA, she went on to have a stellar season that reached its pinnacle last month when she won the Solheim Cup with Europe. With seven second-place finishes – one in LET, four in LPGA and two in the Majors–she lacked only one thing coming to Dallas to defend her crown. A personal victory.

So, finishing at tied 49 on the leaderboard was certainly not what the two-time LPGA Tour winner hoped for. It’s a crushing blow, indeed. But she is keeping her chin up.

Hull posted some glimpses from the tournament on her Instagram handle on Monday. British golfer admits it was not the ideal outcome she was hoping for. Nevertheless, she is not crestfallen. What she needs now is a little rest. “Thank you Dallas. Not the weekend I wanted. But now to get some rest in.

For Hull, rest is necessary. She was playing with a neck injury that barred her from giving her best at the Solheim Cup. Earlier this year, the six-time-Solheim-cupper revealed she was diagnosed with severe ADHD. The health condition makes it difficult for anyone to concentrate on a thing for a longer duration. She revealed in an interview that she got bored on the greens at times.

But the 27-year-old-golfer is slowly figuring out how to tackle that claiming that she knows her triggers and tries to be more patient. As she decides to take another break this season, she has found fans by her side.
