Would you need to carry an umbrella to the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Club & Lodge this weekend? Well, you might, considering how things might turn out in the prestigious Signature event this week. The Arnold Palmer Invitational 2025 is going to be one of the most exciting events in the PGA Tour season so far. There is one big reason behind that; Scottie Scheffler vs. Rory McIlroy vs. Xander Schauffele. Fans haven’t had the opportunity to see this battle in 2025. At least one of them has always been missing from every PGA Tour event this season.

However, we will finally see the three best golfers in the world go head-to-head in a nail-biting contest. Out of the three, only McIlroy has tasted victory in 2025. His season debut saw him lift the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2025 a few weeks ago. And now, he is determined to add a second title to his trophy cabinet for this season. Scottie Scheffler is also hungry for a win. The frustrated World No. 1 has been winless so far this year, as he has failed to find consistency in form. Then there is Schauffele, who has been missing from the Tour after playing the season opener, The Sentry. He had been recovering from an injury he sustained back in 2024.

But now they are all back and they will meet at the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Club & Lodge for the signature event. But will the tournament be devoid of any interruptions? Let’s take a look at the weather reports.

Arnold Palmer Invitational 2025: Weather report

It may be always sunny in Philadelphia, but Orlando has had its fair share of weather concerns. The weather keeps fluctuating across the 4 days as the temperature seems to be rising from 73° to 84° and back to 80° on Sunday. However, that is not the only issue in the weather.

According to AccuWeather, the temperature in the first round of the event on Thursday, March 6, 2025 is pleasant. It stays around 73° with clear clouds. It’s more breezy than warm, which tells us that you should be wearing a warm coat. There are no signs of precipitation and the sun is due to set at 6:29 P.M. local time.

In round two, the weather gets more pleasant as the temperature rises to 77°. There will be some clouds, which might reduce the amount of natural light on the course. But that is something you will have to worry about near sundown, which is reported to be at 6:30 P.M. local time.

On Saturday, the temperature goes up even further to 84°. There is a higher chance of cloud coverage, but still no signs of any rain or strong winds that might disrupt play. The sun will rest at the same time as Friday, i.e. 6:30 P.M. (EST). We recommend you wear something light and breathable to stay comfortable under the sun.

Things take a drastic turn on day 4 of the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational. Firstly, the temperature hits 80°. What’s more? Better carry an umbrella as there are signs of precipitation and thunderstorms during the day. The sun will set at 6:30 P.M. (EST).

Is the unpredictable Orlando weather the real challenge for Scheffler, McIlroy, and Schauffele this weekend?

As far as the weather today goes, ex-PGA Tour pro shared what he can see at the course as he shared his own weather report. Smylie Kaufman tweeted, “Bay Hill is 10/10 on the difficult scale already on a Tuesday. Greens are already firm and fast and the rough is gnarly. Supposed to get some rain tomorrow afternoon to maybe soften it but it’s already ⬆️ 🔥”. Seems like the general expectation is that there will be rain.

Past delays in the signature event

Back in 2013, Tiger Woods was fighting to keep his spot at the top in the fourth round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He had Justin Rose and Keegan Bradley chasing him nearly till the end as the weather also seems to be getting worse. The day was plagued with rain and thunderstorms that led to major delays. The pros ended up finishing the event after the sundown in the dark. In the end, Woods still prevailed and won the signature event by 3 strokes.

Ernie Els also faced the same issue three years prior in 2010. The Big Easy was on his way to win the event when thunderstorms took over the day. The delay was so long that the last few holes of the final round were postponed to Monday. Els did end up completing them and winning the title by 2 strokes. However, chances are if the final round of the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational does get too many delays, then it may not be postponed to Monday. That’s because as per the weather report, there might be rain on Monday, March 10, 2025 as well.
