The fourth signature event of the PGA Tour is nearing its end. The Arnold Palmer Invitational is being played at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge. It was one of the three player-hosted events that have a distinct format from other signature events on the PGA Tour.

Unlike the Sentry or the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the Invitational had a 36-hole cut with the top 50 and ties, and players within 10 strokes of the lead will move ahead for the last two rounds. The cut has been observed, and the players are now ready for the final round, but only one will get the seven-figure paycheck, along with a few other benefits.

What will golfers get along with the hefty purse?

Previously known as the designated event, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, presented by Mastercard, was a new addition to the signature event for the 2024 season. It has one of the second-highest prize purses for a nonmajor event. The first is THE PLAYERS Championship with a $25 million prize pool and the invitational boasts $20 million purse.

Out of which, the winner’s cut will be 20%, accounting for $4 million. Moreover, the event will give away 700 FedExCup points to the winner, with 67.97301 OWGR points for the world rankings. A player winning at the Arnie’s Invitational will definitely be known as one of the leading players because the field had the top 40 from OWGR, and fighting against them wouldn’t have been a piece of cake.

Other than this, the winner and the two runner-ups who are not already exempt will also receive direct qualification for this year’s Open Championship, as the Arnold Palmer Invitational is part of the Open Qualifying Series. And the cherry on top is that the winner will also be qualified to play at the 2024 Masters and the PGA Championship as the PGA Tour winner. The Sunday final round will soon crown the winner at Arnie’s Invitational. There are some golfers who are up for contention, with the world number one eyeing to end his winless drought.

Scottie Scheffler‘s valiant efforts such as changing the putter may soon give him the result, as he is tied for the lead at the Arnold Palmer Invitational with Shane Lowry. His putting rank 58th has now improved to 28th after three rounds. The victory at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge will also mean that Scheffler will win for the first time since the 2023 THE PLAYERS Championship.
