The LIV Golf Invitational Series has been controversial because of endless reasons this year. From promising high prize money to taking away legendary players like Phil Mickelson from the PGA Tour, the LIV Series is still in the limelight.

Scheduled to undergo this Friday, LIV hosted a golf press conference this Tuesday that led to various things. It all started when an AP reporter was stopped from asking a question during the conference, which ended with Kevin Na and other golfers walking off the stage.

The press conference was about to end when a reporter decided to ask a question that he was not allowed to. The host shut him down while he tried to bring the question up at the LIV Golf Invitational Series conference near London on Tuesday.

Host shuts down AP reporter at the LIV Golf Press Conference

The reporter anyhow tried to continue asking his question, when it led to an argument between him and the host. As a result of the ongoing drama, Kevin Na along with Talor Gooch, James Piot, and Sihwan Kim decided to step off the stage and leave the conference room.

The reporter, unwilling to give up, tried his luck one more time and jumped right in front of the media. However, he wasn’t allowed to ask the question anyway and was shut down once again. Later, he was led out by security.

What did that reporter ask at the first LIV Conference?

The same reporter also asked another unique question during the first press conference at around 11 am. The reporter intended to ask the golfers about issues relating to the bombings in Yemen, LGBTQ individuals, and more.

Golfers like Dustin Johnson, Graeme McDowell, Louis Oosthuizen, and Ratchanon Chantananuwat were all on stage. All of them were in an uncomfortable zone in terms of answering such a sensitive question. However, McDowell took charge and said something on behalf of his fellow golfers

“I wish I had the ability to be able to have that conversation with you. You know, I think as golfers, if we tried to cure geopolitical situations in every country in the world that we play golf in, we wouldn’t play a lot of golf,” McDowell replied.
