Dustin Johnson always aces it on the golf course; there is no doubt about that. From the Masters Tournament to the U.S. Open, the former No. 1 has added some spectacular achievements to his name. But besides golfing, there is one more role that Johnson is terrific at: fatherhood.

The two-time major winner, who married his longtime partner, American model Paulina Gretzky, last year, has an adorable family of two sons, Tatum Gretzky Johnson and River Jones Johnson. And with that off-the-course job come some “gross” moments, which the golf pro recently opened up about, 8 years after the birth of his firstborn!

DJ recently spent some time with the ex-pro golfer and on-course reporter Su Ann Heng Kasem. Ahead of the DC event, Kasem caddied for the 2-time major winner as they drove around the course discussing his biggest role yet, parenthood. It’s not everyday you get one-on-one time with a golf great like Johnson; hence, Sue Ann wasted no time in pulling out the big guns.

She asked, “You and I have one thing in common, and that’s not our golf games, obviously. We are both parents of young children. I want to know what’s fatherhood like for DJ. Have you changed diapers?”

DJ promptly replied, “Yes, I have done everything. When you have kids, it is like a lot of things you really thought are gross aren’t gross anymore, especially if it is coming from your kids. You just get used to it.”

Su Ann welcomed her first son, Casey Patrick Kasem, with her husband, DJ Mike Kasem, in 2020, and hence she wanted to know all that she could about the role that faced her for the years to come. And who better to question than Johnson, who has never hesitated to express his love for his sons and often dotes over his family in interviews?

Ever since they got together, Gretzky has accompanied her husband to the majority of his golf events. Furthermore, she has also praised him for being the best dad to their son and called him her best friend too. The duo makes a great team, as parents are incredibly supportive of each other as well. In an interview with Sports Illustrated in 2015, DJ said, “Over these past four or five months, I’ve really grown up, and I am starting to become the person I want my kids to look up to.”

Dustin always had the support of his family through thick and thin. He claimed that the birth of his children had given him a new perspective on life. His family is now his first priority, and even after every win on the course, they’re the first he reaches out to to celebrate with. One could say that he’s a star both on and off the course. His wife and children would certainly attest to that.
