Golf is known to be the gentleman’s game, but even then, it’s not immune to drama. From caddies to champions and even captains, everyone is trying to find a place in this industry. While everyone speaks their mind and decides their way, sometimes there’s a clash. And that was exactly the case when the PGA of America announced the next year’s Ryder Cup captain.

Earlier this month, the PGA of America announced that Keegan Bradley would be the 2025 Ryder Cup captain, and boy, did that hit some nerves. Not that anything was disclosed but Stewart Cink could be a potential choice for the captain too along with Tiger Woods. After all, he has been a Ryder Cup captain five times and was a vice-captain last year. And when the news of Bradley being chosen as the captain hit the news, Cink was not shy about showing his disappointment publicly.

“I’m disappointed that I wasn’t chosen to be the captain, of course. I was really hoping to be in that role,” said Cink at the 2024 Genesis Invitational, according to NBC. The 8-time PGA Tour winner believed that he was the perfect choice for the leadership role.

But that did not stop the player from praising the golfer who was selected to lead the team at Bethpage Black. I have so much respect for the players and the Ryder Cup, and Keegan has great energy, and he’s playing great. He’ll do a really good job,” said Cink. Despite his disappointment, Cink complimented Bradley on being chosen as the captain. But wait, the story isn’t over yet!

There has been no news about the two of them not talking to each other, and how Cink also praised Bradley, this indeed reflects that the two are talking to each other, and are on friendly terms.  In a surprising turn of events, U.S. Team Captain Jim Furyk announced Keegan Bradley as the fourth assistant captain for the 2024 Presidents Cup. And in an interesting coincidence, Bradley will be working alongside none other than Stewart Cink.

Even Jim Furyk couldn’t help but praise Bradley, “I know he will be an asset to our players in 2024 as well as 2025, as he leads them into Bethpage Black for the 2025 Ryder Cup.” This also presents a golden opportunity for Bradley to learn a few techniques to later use at the 2025 Ryder Cup. And the golfer agrees!

“With the Ryder Cup on the horizon next year, this will be a great experience for me to understand the other side of the team room, Bradley told PGA Tour. So are you excited to see these incredible names leading Team U.S. at the upcoming Presidents Cup? Let us know in the comment section below!
