

Sebastian Korda, seems to take after his father really well, luckily for US Tennis fans. The 24-year-old is making the right kind of waves at the ongoing Miami Open, Punching above his weight with some verve. Korda started the tournament with a two-set victory over fellow American and wildcard entry Eliot Spizzirri.
Then came his big test, 9-seeded Tsitsipas. It took some work but the young American dispatched the Greek in straight sets, 7-6, 6-3. In the Round of 16, Korda faced off against French Tennis star and former World No.6 Gael Monfils. Korda roared to a 6-4 victory in the first set before being trumped by Monfils 6-2 in the second. He, however, kept his cool and claimed a thrilling 6-4 third-set victory to set up a mouth-watering clash against Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals.
Present supporting and cheering on her brother at the Hard Rock Stadium was six-time LPGA Tour winner Jessica Korda. Jessica Korda was seen sharing a snapshot of her at the Miami Open with her husband Johnny DelPrete by her side. Another person was also in the picture, it was their young son Greyson John delPrete. The story was captioned “Sleeping Beauty during Uncle Sebi’s match.”

She had also earlier shared a post by the ATP Tour which celebrated the 24-seeded Sebastian Korda’s three-set fighting victory over French star Gael Monfils. It is easy to see that Jessica Korda is a very proud sister celebrating her family’s success and going above and beyond to support her brother.

One person who was absent was Nelly Korda. The LPGA pro is likely focused on the upcoming Ford Championship that is taking place in Arizona this week. The World No.1, is yet to win a title this year, after going on a magical run last year and will likely be looking to win her next event, after staying out off the Asian leg of the Tour. Despite the absence, Nelly Korda will be celebrating the victory and eagerly awaiting the upcoming tie against Djokovic just like her sister Jessica.

Sebastian Korda vs Novak Djokovic
This will be Sebastian Korda’s second meeting with the legendary Serb. The current No.5 faced off against Korda in the final of the Adelaide International 1 at the beginning of the 2023 Season. The American reached the finals by beating the likes of Andy Murray and Jannik Sinner.

Korda fought really well against Djokovic, clinching the first set via a tiebreaker. Djokovic, however, proved to be inevitable after all as he won the second set via tiebreaker before clinching the last set 6-4 to end Korda’s dream run. Now that a familiar foe is up against him, The American tennis pro will be looking to use his experience from the previous loss to his advantage and move to the semifinals.
