After dropping in at Hong Kong, the Aramco Team Series will make its next stop at Riyadh for the fifth event of the series. The $1M PIF-funded event is significant for reasons more than one. For the first time, the Saudi Arabian capital will host a professional golf tournament.
In this unique event of the LET Tour, 84 professional golfers pair up with amateur golfers for the four-person team tournament held over the first two days. However, it’s only the top 60 players who make the cut going head to head for the individual title. The points are also counted for the Race to Costa del Sol and Rolex World Ranking points. Ahead of the tournament beginning on 27th October, let’s take a look at the biggest names in the tournament.

Five Players to Watch Out for in the Aramco Team Series Riyadh
Lilia Vu
The Current No.1 will be the center of attraction at this year’s Saudi Aramco Series. The 26-year-old is in phenomenal form this season winning two Majors – a playoff win at the Chevron Championship in April & a stellar victory at the AIG Women’s Open in August.

The American star started this season with a bang, winning her maiden career victory since turning pro, at the Honda LPGA Thailand. After being denied her fourth win this season at the Buicks LPGA Shanghai at the hands of her Solheim Cup teammate, Angel Yin, Lilia Vu is hungry for a victory at the LET Tour’s flagship event.
Charley Hull
The British pro has netted six top-10 finishes this calendar year including a runner-up finish in two Majors – AIG Women’s Open in July and again at the U.S. Women’s Open next month. After playing at the Solheim Cup with a niggling neck injury, the current World No. 8, finished at 49th on the leaderboard in The Ascendants LPGA.

Like her English compatriot and close friend, Charley Hull, Hall is also lining up at the Riyadh Golf Club. Although 2023 has not been the best of the year for the two-time LPGA Tour winner, the British pro will be eager to end her trophy drought.

Bagging six top finishes, the 27-year-old golfer’s best performance came in the DIO Implant LA Open in late March, where she finished as the runner-up. Nevertheless, the one-time Major winner is excited to be part of the Team series. “The Aramco Team Series format brings a lot of fun, excitement, and team spirit to tournament golf, while it is also a great challenge to place well individually in such a high-caliber field,” LET quoted her as saying. Incidentally, Georgia Hall won Aramco Saudi Ladies International in the Gulf country.
Minjee Lee
The 10-time LPGA Tour winner has joined the long list of the start-studded lineup at the Saudi Aramco event in Riyadh. Coming to the Kingdom after winning at the BMW Ladies Championship last week in Seoul, the Australian pro will surely look forward to carrying the strong momentum.

The former world No.1 amateur also has two Majors under her belt – the 2021 Evian Championship and the 2022 US Women’s Open. Recording two wins in this calendar year, the current world no. 4 is eager to increase her trophy tally this season.
Carlota Ciganda
One of the most impactful names in this year’s European Solheim Cup squad, Ciganda will travel to the Gulf nation after finishing in the 34th position at the BMW Ladies Championship in Seoul. The Spanish golfer’s individual win against Nelly Korda helped Europe retain the cup at the Andalusian course.
