Before the arrival of LIV Golf, Phil Mickelson was considered one of the most active golfers on Twitter. Though he rarely makes his presence known on the social media app in recent days, the golf world always is aware of his actions on the internet. It was revealed that he blocked golf’s biggest social media influencer Paige Spiranac last month. However, earlier last year, he blocked yet another influencer on Twitter.
Michelson is known to have a witty character. However, at times, even Lefty may not like certain jokes. Take a look at why the six-time Major winner blocked a songwriter on Twitter.

The song focused on Phil Mickelson’s comments on the Saudi-backed Tour, which was still in talks to be initiated back then. The name of the song, ‘Growing the Game’, indirectly takes a jab at Mickelson’s decision to leave the PGA Tour for pursuing the growth of the game mantra.

Moreover, some of the lyrics from the song also were directed toward other associates of LIV Golf, such as Bryson DeChambeau, Shane Lowry, and even the CEO of Saudi Golf Majed Al Sorour. Though many appreciated the humorous song, the ever-witty Phil wasn’t a fan.
The Hall of Famer loathed the song to the extent that he blocked the singer Sam Harrop on Twitter. The UK-based artist shared the screenshot of Phil blocking him on Twitter. “It was a fun ride”, captioned Harrop. Nonetheless, the singer wasn’t the only content creator blocked by Phil Mickelson in 2022.

Spiranac, who has the most following on social media in the world of golf, revealed last month that Mickelson blocked her on Twitter, unblocked her, apologized, and blocked her again. Though she revealed it recently, the social media star got blocked by the Hall of Famer long ago.
In an episode of her podcast Playing A Round last month, Spiranac revealed that she has been blocked by Phil since his 2021 PGA Championship win. Nonetheless, being golf’s biggest social media entity, she pulled some strings to have a chat with Mickelson.

Phil stated that he didn’t intend to block her and apologized for the mistake. Nonetheless, the 6-time Major winner blocked Paige Spiranac the very next day on Twitter as well as Instagram. Perhaps, Mickelson may not be fond of golf content creators. Considering his comical humor, Phil could himself give the social media influencer’s lifestyle a shot.
