Greg Norman might just have banished all insurance worries for Anthony Kim. Apparently, the former PGA Tour Pro is set to receive around $8 million for teeing up on the PIF-funded side. Golf Channel first confirmed the rumors of Kim’s LIV Golf adventure, citing multiple insider sources. Now further details have come to light.
Referring to the LIV Golf Updates on X (formerly Twitter), Nuclr Golf tweeted, “Anthony Kim is believed to be receiving a $5-$7.5M USD signing bonus from LIV Golf, per @LIVGolfUpdates.” Interestingly, Kim had insurance worth $10 million, which might turn null and void should he return to professional golf. Reportedly, the three-time PGA Tour winner has already collected a portion of the insurance money. Anthony Kim might have to return that amount, if not the full $10 million, once he returns to the competitive sphere.
The social media handle further wrote, “AK apparently signed on for a handful of LIV events as a wildcard with the possibility of a mid season extension & may even get his own team should he do well in competition. No specifics are known in regard to how much AK may owe on his insurance policy now that he’s back playing pro golf.” It is not clear which of the 13 teams might take up Kim as a potential fill-in.

Regardless, Kim looks to be eyeing a comeback to the greens through the PIF-funded side. The Saudi sovereign fund has opened up new avenues for players to take part in LIV events without becoming a part of any team. There will be two wildcard entries throughout the season. Reportedly, Hudson Swafford is the full-time wildcard entry for this season. The second spot will be taken up by Anthony Kim, as it appears.
Kim has been off the golf map for the last 12 years. An injury forced him to withdraw from his last three PGA Tour outings. Since then, the 38-year-old has gone through multiple surgeries that have only complicated the matter. There have been rumors of Kim’s return to the greens, however, it has all stayed at that. But this time, Anthony Kim seems to be finally returning to professional golf, as multiple reports suggest that he has ramped up practice.

But Dustin Johnson convinced him of Kim’s value, following which he changed his decision.
