Leaving the professional golf scene 8 years ago and then playing a competitive stroke event suddenly one day, would make anyone nervous. And it rightfully did for Paige Spiranac, too. In 2017, the golf model turned away from her LPGA Tour dream and started her golf journey, becoming one of the first golf influencers. But after eight years of not playing a competitive stroke play, Spiranac was invited to the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic in East Lake.
Notably, the invitation made the 31-year-old golfer excited, but she was also nervous about her gameplay. On top of that, the odds predicted against her. However, proving things wrong, Spiranac finished only 2 over and better than seven other players on the field. Although she didn’t win the classic, it surely boosted her confidence. Reminiscing over the past, the former pro posted on X and said, “That time I got to tee it up at East Lake for the Creator Classic! My hands were shaking lol.”
Despite her nerves, Spiranac proved that she is a talented golfer nonetheless and now has also gotten praise from Annika Sorenstam’s husband. NUCLR Golf reposted Spiranac’s recent golf video and asked the golf world if they thought they could beat the Sports Illustrated model in an 18-hole match. Surprisingly, Mike McGee replied and said, there was “Zero chance” he would win against her. Additionally, when a user doubtfully asked McGee if Spiranac could actually play, he confidently replied, “Yes.”

Although the question was a sort of critique of Spiranac’s golf skills, McGee’s one-word answer shut down any naysayer who believed that the 31-year-old former pro could not play exceptional golf. Since her content creator career, Spiranac has been hit with much criticism. But the internet personality has moved past it all, and she has a message for them too.

In the past, just like Mike McGee, many people have praised Spiranac’s skills. Even Bryson DeChambeau was impressed with her gameplay when the two collaborated for the LIV Golf pro’s ‘break 50’ YouTube challenge. But the haters still do not leave a chance to drag her down over the content she posts. In an interview with Fox Business, the 31-year-old influencer explained how she now believed that people were allowed to have their opinions about her brand.

Furthermore, she tried to think from their perspective and said, “I honestly think that even sometimes, although it can come off as criticism or hateful, I don’t think a lot of people actually truly mean it in that way. I think, in some way, they’re trying to be helpful.” So over the years, when she now gets any negative comments, Spiranac tries to see if she can learn from it and adjust.
