LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam has established one of the greatest careers in golfing history. In her 28-year professional career, she has secured 90 wins collectively. Sorenstam has won 72 times on the LPGA Tour, and 10 majors across two different decades (1995-08). Moreover, Sorenstam has won the LPGA Tour Player of the Year eight times.

It was an exquisite year for Sorenstam. After her retirement at the first-ever Women’s US Open at Pebble Beach, she has now been invited to the Augusta National Golf Club. Not only that, she has added yet another feat to the ongoing LPGA tour. The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican event of the LPGA is her namesake event, where Sorenstam will be the tournament host.

Sorenstam Highlights Success Requires Commitment, There Are No Shortcuts

One of the most successful golfers, Annika Sorenstam’s legacy is truly inspiring. The Hall-of-Famer reflects on her journey, saying, “There are no shortcuts to success.” Her father has instilled this resilience in her. She highlights the importance of patience, which is necessary to succeed. Sorenstam wants “children to see that if they want to achieve things, they don’t just grow on trees. It takes commitment.”

Sorenstam has accomplished almost everything that is there to achieve in golf, although she remains extensively humble about it. “I would say golf has given me confidence,” she adds.

“Achieving success on the golf course helped me, because it gave me confidence,” says Sorenstam. She believes that women need to have faith in themselves and what they’re doing.

Sorenstam is aware of the difficulties women face in balancing family life. Finding a midway between a life filled with athletics and personal commitments can be endearing, Sorenstam has her mantra. “To play well you have to have good balance in your life,” she believes. Regardless of the difficulties, she believes everything is worth it.

Moreover, as she reflects upon her experiences gained on the golf course, Sorenstam believes that “there are no shortcuts to success.” To achieve things, “it takes commitment,” she adds.

Sorenstam Becomes a Member At Augusta National Golf Club

Sorenstam has now been inducted into the renowned Augusta National Golf Club. She has made history, as she is the first female professional golfer in the franchise’s history to get initiated into the membership ranks. The club first passed the circular to allow women as members back in 2012. Sorenstam feels “extremely honored” and calls it “one of the happiest days in [her] golf life.”
