The PGA Tour hot mics are getting hotter and spicier. At first, it was mic’d-up PGAT pro Justin Thomas who once again made the headlines with his outburst at Pebble Beach. Now, it is the world’s number one, Scottie Scheffler, who has found himself on the hot seat and has become the sizzling topic on X.
At the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Scheffler seemed to be struggling with his putting, a battle the Dallas resident had long fought and amidst the struggle, at one point, Scheffler could not contain himself from releasing the anger out loud.

The weather hasn’t been kind to the PGA Tour pros since the last signature event. The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am did not see its final day as the weather aggravated and it appears the tumultuous weather conditions have followed the pro to the TPC Scottsdale as the first round of the event was suspended due to the heavy rain but was later resumed.
At the Scottsdale greens, Scheffler started his 6-hole play with a bogey on par-4 hole one. He followed it with two consecutive birdies. However, at the next three holes, Scheffler only made par. At one such point, he missed the birdie putt and exclaimed loudly, “F**k!.” The unusual reaction from Scheffler was re-shared by NUCLR Golf on X.

Known for his calm and collected demeanor on the greens, Scheffler’s sudden outburst caught everyone by surprise. The commentator even cited the piled-up frustration as the reason behind the PGAT Pro’s unusual behavior. Unlike JT, the golf world atypically liked the exclamation by World No. 1.
Netizens react to Scheffler’s never-seen-before persona
Scheffler’s return to the Arizonian greens is not going as smoothly as one might have expected; the World No. 1 has a lot on his plate as he is vying for a three-peat victory. To add to the pressure, the uncertain weather and struggles with putting are enough reasons to rile up the 2022 Masters Champion. However, the golf fans are all for the vexed Scheffler.
If someone could relate to Scheffler, it was a recreational golfer who often faced the same situation and thereafter had a similar reaction. This fan laughed and cheered on the fact that Scheffler was “one of us”

Another fan remarked that after the unsuccessful 2023 Ryder Cup, Scheffler had a dark rage inside him. But they are absolutely in favor of it.
Post-Ryder Cup Scottie has a dark rage inside him. We endorse. https://t.co/lAIE1iKiJZ

One fan used a Jack Nicholson gif to signify his approval of Scheffler’s out-of-character behavior and asked him to keep it coming.
Almost there, Scottie. Keep coming… https://t.co/x7AIemI66j pic.twitter.com/JhqtvZ2i2e

Although Scheffler had probably not done something respectful, his natural reaction to the missed putt had put him higher in this fan’s eyes. They shared that their respect for Scheffler had probably grown more.

The Nice Guy storyline might not be everyone’s cup of tea. This fan loved Scheffler’s reaction and said that this “makes Scottie so much more appealing” and that the old storyline was “boring.”
I’m so in on this. Makes Scottie so much more appealing… the “walking with gf while drinking coffee” guy is such a boring storyline

Scheffler has always been unanimated on the golf course; whether he is winning or losing to someone, he rarely showcases his emotions. A little different side of Scheffler came to light, and this fan encouraged the pro to express his emotions more often.
