Bryson DeChambeau has been a prominent name in the golf world. Ever since his debut in 2016, the Californian player has largely been known for his scientifically shaped impressive performances. However, in addition to that, he is also known for his feud with fellow pro golfer and countryman, Brooks Koepka.

Walking down memory lane, in 2019, DeChambeau became a victim of numerous callouts for his slow play from fellow pros, including Koepka. The ‘mad scientist’ initially opted to handle the situation gracefully. However, not being able to accept the criticism any further, he headed to the caddie of Koepka, dropping a strong message.

In 2019, players were busy giving their best shot during the 2019 FedEx Cup playoffs. However, instead of the splendid performances by the players, it was Dechambeau‘s slow-paced game that became the talk of the town.

Playing the Northern Trust, DeChambeau took a long time to make a putt in the second round. An act, that opened the doors for massive criticism from his fellow players. Angered by constant criticism, he headed to the caddie of Brooks Koepka, asking him to tell his boss to make any comment about slow play “to my face”. Learning about the message, Koepka took no time to have a conversation with DeChambeau.

Considering the incident, it goes without saying that the conversation between the two was an intense one. Following the conversation, Koepka came out in public, clarifying his stance on the matter.

Walking in the same shoes as Koepka, DeChambeau also came out in public, putting forward his opinion on the conflict. “I have heard him talk about slow play before and he has mentioned my name before, and I just wanted to clear the air,” he said. “Make sure that nothing was of any importance after, and he’s got respect for me; I have respect for him. So no issues.”
Even though the incident took place between DeChambeau and Koepka, its effect was visible in the entire golf world. Taking to their social media handles, a major section of the golf world expressed their opinions, most of which were in the favor of Koepka.
