Angel Yin is all set for tomorrow’s tournament, the Kroger Queen City Championship, at the Kenwood Country Club, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ahead of its start, she attended a press conference in which she answered an important question about the players selected for the Solheim Cup.
The question focused on how there are a lot of rookies in the team this time, and how their energy and drive will work out for the team. Yin appreciated how everyone on the team was so driven. She pointed out that personality is a big factor and the team has a good mix now. Yin also clarified that there are rookies in the team but not a lot of them.
Angel Yin mentioned Lexi Thompson and explained her impact on the team. “And we have a huge veteran like Lexi who has played like I think six times already, so I think it just all adds to go and fits well.”
Angel Yin is not far off from the exact number. While Lexi Thompson has played in the Solheim five times so far. She played in the cup consecutively for the past five times since 2013. It’s going to be her sixth back-to-back appearance in Spain.
While Angel Yin, and many others surely, have a lot of trust and admiration for the Ryder Cup veteran, some fans seem to be skeptical of her form. Let’s look at some comments from the Tour’s post about the new uniforms, to know what these skeptical fans have said.
Lexi Thompson receives negative comments ahead of the Solheim Cup
There were a couple of comments in the Tour’s post where an explanation was provided in support of the opinion shared, but mostly the comments were straight to the point. A few comments compared Thompson with Justin Thomas from the Ryder Cup team.

While we can’t agree or disagree with these comments, Justin Thomas was picked by the Captain, whereas Lexi Thompson entered based on her world ranking. Hey, we aren’t taking sides, these are just facts. “Lexi does not deserve to be there. = Justin Thomas,” wrote one.
This one follows in the same direction as the previous comment. “Lexi with the JT pick.” The next comment draws attention to Thompson’s track record this season which does look unimpressive. “Lexi has barely made a cut this year while not even close to making the cut in most tournaments!”
This one just went for plain shock. “Lexi????” This commenter has calmly put forward their point and that’s nice. “Lexi didn’t play her way on nor have any game at this time deserving to be on that team…Kristina Kim has played better and has more fire 🔥 in her than LT(and she’s almost semi-retired)…ijs. Her pic is like legacy picks for ivy league schools or is this affirmative action🤔. Eithery”
