The current number three golfer in the world, Cameron Smith, shone in his native Brisbane. He captured the trophy of his third Fortinet Australian PGA Championship last Sunday. He owned Brisbane’s Royal Queensland Golf Club, with a final-round score of 3 under 68 and an overall score of 14 under. The 29-year-old Aussie golfer won with a three-stroke advantage. And the happiness was visible in the recent trending video.
The Aussie star struggled with the weather as lightning delayed the game on Sunday for about two hours after they stopped twice before it. However, Smith had a three-shot advantage while he advanced into the fourth round. But the Australian didn’t think he would win. At the beginning of the week, when he teed off, the golfer thought he did not have it in him but proved otherwise, and the video went viral.

And only those who have been to the BCH will know what a "beer off the wood" tastes like. Great spot, how many pro-golfers would actually go to a local like this. Cam Smith is a man of his people. Next time you visit Brisbane, stop for a quick one on your way to the Airport.

With the record of his year, it is safe to say that Smith had a monster year. His 2022 campaign started with a victory over Jon Rahm in January’s Sentry Tournament of Champions. Two months later, fans saw him win the greatest prize on the PGA Tour, the Players Championship.
At the Open, Smith chased Rory McIlroy dramatically. Then he moved to LIV Golf in August, where he prevailed in his second Saudi circuit start. Finally, he registered his third career victory last week on the DP World Tour by winning Fortinet Australian PGA Championship.
