The 30th edition of the historic Amundi Evian Championship will soon conclude at Evian Les Bains and crown the next winner on the Champions Course. After making the 36-hole cut, only the top 67 golfers remain on the course from the 132 players that teed up on July 11th. Those who did not make the cut missed the opportunity to get their hands on the winner’s shares of the million-dollar prize.
What is the prize purse for the 30th Evian Championship? The prize purse for the Amundi Evian Championship was increased from 2023’s $6.5 million to $8 million in 2024. From which the winner will take home $1.2 million, whereas the runner-up will receive $754,606. Is there something else on the line as well?
Comparatively, even though it is the women’s major, the Evian Championship still offers $1 million less than the $9 million offered at the Scottish Open. Nonetheless, the winner of the 30th Amundi Evian Championship will also get a 650 Race to CME Globe. On top of that, five years of LPGA Tour exemption will be like the cherry on the cake. The total breakdown of prize money is given below.

Although the prize money of the 2024 Evian Championship is lower than that of the PGA Tour and DP World Tour’s Genesis Scottish Open, the 2024 prize purse was in itself a historical event for the fourth major of women’s golf.
Women’s golf gets a big raise in 2024
This year, the three majors before the Evian Championship saw a steep increase in their prize purse as the LPGA Tour announced a record-breaking schedule of nearly $125 million in total prize money awarded at the events. Notably, the prize purse of the Chevron Championship jumped from $5.2 million to $7.9 million.

Even at the US Women’s Open and the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, the prize purses increased by $1 million and $400K, respectively. The substantial increase in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship made this event the highest-paid event in the female golf fraternity.
Following this trend, the prize purse of the Amundi Evian Championship was increased as well and the prize purse for the last major AIG Women’s Open might increase from $9 million too. Interestingly, ever since the Amundi Evian Championship has been regarded as the major, its prize has increased by 146%.
When this hike was introduced, everyone was really elated, as it signified the growth of female golf. “It’s a beautiful symbol for the tournament’s 30th anniversary to announce this significant increase in our prize money,” said Franck Riboud, Chairman of the championship. “Since our creation, our ambition has been to develop women’s sport and to give ever greater resources to the champions who represent it. Today, thanks to the support of the LPGA and Ladies European Tour, the involvement of our loyal Sponsors Club and the exposure provided by the international media, The Amundi Evian Championship is more than ever part of the very exclusive circle of major women’s golf events. It’s a source of immense pride for all those who have contributed and continue to contribute to its success.”
