The golf world was already enthralled because of the $25 million LIV Golf event, which took place at Greenbrier and showcased 48 LIV defectors. Now, amid this tournament, LIV had another stunning new plan up its sleeve. 

It scheduled a face-off match between arguably the two best players at LIV Golf, Bryson DeChambeau, and Phil Mickelson. While the golf community was already buzzing with anticipation for this match, a snippet of them trading iconic one-liners went viral.

LIV Golf defied the traditional format of 72-holes with its distinctive format of 54-holes. But with their latest news of ‘Lefty’ going against ‘the scientist’ in a one-on-one match, things have become even more exciting. And this match, which was taking place amid the LIV Golf Greenbrier, has an even special format, which is a 9-hole format. 

Thus, a snippet of the match was posted from an Instagram handle called FlushingItGolf. In the video, Phil and Bryson were seen engaged in a banter with each other. Phil started the conversation by asking, “What are we playing for?”. To which DeChambeau replied, “I’ve not thought about it.” Then Mickelson answered, explaining to his friend the rules of the game “Well Camel and I will play you guys and Honor Bond, we’ll play nine holes for G… when you’re closed out you can press for half… And if you want what we’ll do is we’ll go twenty-eight. If you shoot 28 best balls, it’s double ”. 

Then DeChambeau finally replied, saying, “He’s playing a lot more of these sorts of things so he knows how to make a deal that works in his favor.” To this, Mickelson also added, “Just so you know Camo and I, we don’t do Venmo, Paypal… Straight cash”.

As the news of their possible 1 on 1 match went viral, fans shared their array of comments. While some couldn’t hold back their excitement for the face-off to be aired, others congratulated the players for their fit physiques.
