While the Players Championship heads to its closing stages, the LIV Golf Series have slyly posted a series of pictures ahead of their Tucson event. But one of the defectors, Patrick Reed, has provided a cheeky life update after tagging the post on his Instagram story, which has left fans wondering.

Patrick Reed surprises the golf world with a life update

Having been mired in various controversies before, Reed’s name was up in the air again after the 2018 Masters champion posted a story through his Instagram account. Normally not an internet-obsessed person, the move caught fans by surprise, but his words alongside the post added more spice to the story.

But what did he mention in his story? Tagging a picture of his from the LIV Golf post, Reed wrote “Life is good!!”, which was enough to contemplate upon among golf fans.

Interestingly, though, Reed posted the story during the final round of the Players Championship, where Scottie Scheffler is currently leading. The latter starts the round with a lead of two strokes, with a win at TPC Sawgrass enough to return as the world’s top-ranked golfer.

Does Reed’s story send a powerful message?

The post on Reed’s story showed LIV players in smiles ahead of its second event of the season at the Gallery Golf Club in Tucson. With Reed claiming that his life was moving well, it could be an indication of the mood around the camp, despite its struggles in the outside world.

For starters, the rebel league’s move to join hands with the CW network for broadcasting rights was ridiculed heavily. To add salt to the wounds, the TV ratings for the event were extremely low, with New York City, the CW’s flagship market, averaging a lowly 0.08 household rating.

The inability to bring another superstar to the league after several assurances have also been seen as a failure. While the league features some of the world’s best golfers, it is still far off from being awarded rankings points, which remains another disappointment.
