It is always a treat for the fans to watch when two of their favorite players come together. And if they are the champions of their field then it definitely offers a very enthralling experience.
That is exactly what the fans of ace golfers Lexi Thompson and Brooke Henderson are about to witness. LPGA will be hosting its Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational Challenge next week and the tournament has announced the first-time team-up of Thompson and Henderson for the event.

Lexi Thompson and Brooke Henderson team up for the next LPGA Tournament
Fan favorites Lexi Thompson and Brooke Henderson, are the leading names in women’s golf. Not only do both the pro golfers possess extraordinary golfing talents but they have often given displayed brilliant performances during various tournaments. And for the first time in their career, they will be teaming up for the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational which is happening next week. This amazing news was announced by the tournament’s official page on Twitter.

The little gesture in the caption was just as sweet as the news where flags of Canada and the USA were displayed and the middle was a hand-shaking emoji indicating the union of the players.
This is big news for both players who for this week were slated for competing at one of LPGA’s biggest championships, the US Women’s Open. However, Pebble Beach turned out a tough challenge for Thompson who missed the cut at the event. On the other hand, Brooke Henderson earned praise all around thanks to a magnificent eagle that she made from a distance of 116 yards. Nevertheless, the announcement has left fans excited to see both talents extraordinaire teamed up for the Invitational next week.

Format and prize money of the new LPGA Tournament
The Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational is a new tournament on the LPGA Tour. It is a team event that started in 2019 and is held at Midland Country Club in Midland, Michigan. The event hosts 72 two women’s teams competing in a 72-hole stroke play format with alternating rounds of foursomes and four-ball. Since its beginning, its purse has kept on increasing with each year. Last year the team that took the first prize of $607,620 by splitting were Jennifer Kupcho and Lizette Salas. The prize purse for 2023 is set at $2.7 million.

This year the event will be held from 17th -22nd July. It will be interesting to see that the new power duo at the tournament will be able to take home this year’s first prize.
